Glass Blowing
For new renters:
You must have a studio rental contract on file and be knowledgeable of the studio rules before you can reserve time. Advance scheduling is required and must be pre-paid in full.
- Glory Hole rental requires minimum rental of three hours per glory hole.
- Please arrive on time for scheduled rental period; late arrivals will not be reimbursed, nor will renter's time be allowed to run past scheduled rental time without additional fees.
- Cancellations up to a week in advance will only be refunded 50%.
- Cancellation received less than one week in advance (unless in an emergency) will not be refunded.
- If the renter reschedules, a fee of $2 per rescheduled hour will be charged.
- A full refund will be given if the studio must cancel a renter's slot.
Rental agreements for 30 hours or more per glory hole, paid and scheduled at one time receive a price break. Rescheduling of any hours booked using a 30+ hours agreement will result in a fee of $2 per rescheduled hour. All of the above rules apply for the 30+ hours agreement.

Rental includes space in one annealer per 4 hour slot for an 8-hour annealing cycle. To reserve a full annealer there is an additional $10 charge per program hour. You must reserve a private annealer or longer annealing cycle 2 weeks in advance as we are tyring to accommodate several artists at once. For annealing cycles in excess of 8 hours there is an additional $3 per program hour charge—advance scheduling is required. Rental includes a reasonable amount of glass use, determined to be 10lbs of annealed glass per rental hr on the 14" and 16" glory hole and 13lbs of annealed glass per rental hr; any over usage will be weighed and billed separately at $3/lb. Renters must clean their entire work area completely upon completion of blow slot (see posted studio rules). Renters will be charged a $10 fee for any area not cleaned properly. Each renter must be checked out by the studio manager before leaving. Please be prompt in retrieving annealed glass. NOCGI, Inc. is not responsible for work that breaks, is not properly annealed or left in studio.
An exact torch with propane may be reserved for $5 per blow slot. At this time, rental also includes use of the garage. We are trying to budget a color oven; once we have that available it will be included in the rental rate and there will be a $3 charge per blow slot for the garage. We are also working on getting an oxy/propane torch. Once this is available, there will be a $25 charge per 3 hr slot.
Casting
Ladle casting must be scheduled specially due to higher glass temperature, high use of glass and longer annealing cycles. Cost is $550 per day to reserve the shop, plus $3.00 per lb of annealed glass. For annealing cycles in excess of 8 hours there is an additional $3 per program hour. NOCGI, Inc. will not be held responsible for glass that breaks during or after the annealing process. Quench barrel must be cleaned before use so that glass can be recycled. Do not put trash or colored glass into this barrel. Renter must clean space after use and check out with the studio manager.
Beadmaking/Lampworking Studio
$25.00 flat rate for use of studio space, plus $20/hr per station. If two torches are to be used at one time the fee would then be $40/hr plus the studio flat rate. Basic tools, annealer, and mini CC torches are included in the rate. Renters must provide their own glass. Advanced scheduling and payment required. Renters will pay balance due upon completing slot if time runs over scheduled time. Renter must clean space after use and check out with the studio manager.
Kiln Working Studio
Our kiln working studio has the following equipment/furniture available:
One 4' x 8' wood top work table
One Skutt GM1414, 41.5"W x 24.5"D x 13.5"H
Two Nabertherm GF240 kilns, 39"W x 31"D x 14"H
$25 studio flat fee for use of studio space.
$10 per program hr rental fee for kiln use. Advanced scheduling required. Payment to be made upon completion of fusing cycle. NOCGI, Inc. will not be held responsible for glass that breaks during or after the kiln process. Renter must clean space after use and check out with the studio manager.
You must provide your own glass, tools, molds ect.
All renters are required to leave the studio as they found it. All tools put away, furniture and equipment cleaned, floors swept, etc. This studio is a community effort and relies on all community members for upkeep.
