NOCGI, Inc. Cold Shop Rental

NOCGI's cold shop equipment is available for rental on an hourly basis. Hours of Operation 9am - 5pm, Monday thru Friday by appointment only. Please call to schedule an appointment (504) 482-6003.
Prices subject to change without notice. All rentals subject to studio policies.

NOCGI, Inc. Equipment Rates and Policies
$20.00 per hour for each individual using the cold shop.
Includes use of the belt sander, variable speed flat wheel, lathe, and diamond saw.

• Supplies are included or you can bring in your own belts, discs and wheels.
• Renters must clean cold shop area thoroughly after use. This includes all equipment, table surfaces, floors, walls and the sink. Renters must check in and out with the studio manager. An additional fee may be assessed for damaged equipment or additional cleaning by staff.
• Notify staff immediately if there are any problems with equipment.
  All renters must wear the proper safety equipment when working on the machines in the cold shop.
• No one may use the cold shop without prior scheduling.
• Anyone wishing to use the cold shop must make an appointment for a tutorial on how to use the equipment.

Lathe

• Includes 2 diamond wheels.
• Renter may provide their own wheels if needed.
• Equipment and area are to be thoroughly cleaned upon completion. Additional fees may apply for damage and/or additional cleaning by staff.
• Please notify staff immediately if there are any problems with equipment.

Diamond Saw

• Providing your own blade is preferred but not necessary. The studio will assess an additional fee for excessive wear and tear on the studio diamond blade.
• Clean shop thoroughly after use; equipment, table surfaces, floor, wall and sink.
• Please notify staff immediately if there are any problems with equipment.

Belt Sander

• Includes use of Belts.
• Renters must clean area upon completion.
• Please notify staff immediately if there are any problems with equipment.

NOCGI, Inc Cold Shop Rules:

The cold shop is available to anyone who is familiar with how to use the equipment—belt sander, diamond saw and lathe. Please become familiar with rules prior to use.

No alcohol or drug use while working in cold shop.

Be aware that table space is limited especially if two people are working in shop at one time.

Sign in and let the office know when you will start and as soon as you finish. If you intend to leave the cold shop for more than a few minutes without performing any cleanup technically you are still using the cold shop and will be charged accordingly. If you need to take a break, clean your work area and inform the office as soon as you stop.

All cold shop equipment has drain buckets that need to be monitored and emptied regularly. If you notice water leaking onto the floor around the equipment please notify the staff.  Studio drains are easily clogged by grit and powdered glass. Because of this, we ask that you please use a bucket to rinse your glass.

Please clean up!
Mops, brooms, sponges and rags and cleaning solution are available for cleaning table surfaces, walls, floor and equipment.

Courtesy is contagious. Be thorough and return all tools and supplies to their proper locations. Close cabinet doors, rinse out your buckets, remove debris, then let the office know you are finished so you can be checked out. Renters will be notified if the area has not been cleaned thoroughly; additional fee of $10/rental slot will apply.
